Provisions on change of name

According to article 18 of the household registration ordinance in China and the ministry of public security bureau "the preliminary opinion to the execution of household registration ordinance" the provisions of article 9 of the citizens to apply for change the name according to the following provisions:

(l) caused by a household registration department citizens, in the name of the error caused by the errors in the police station to certify that, by now the account that the police inspector approved, giving correct;

(2) the citizens under the age of eighteen, requirements changes its name or guardian by oneself write a written application, issue a certificate by the schools and students after approved by the police chief, give change.Adopted or been adopted, the older need their assent;

Citizens under the age of 18 (3) to apply for change of name, need to fill out the "resident identity change application form", after signing by own unit personnel, a registered permanent residence this getting certificate approval until each county and city public security bureau door to deal with.No unit citizens apply for change of name, signed by a parent's opinion the examination and approval formalities, parents have no seven units, signed after examination and approval by the residents' committees to deal with;

(4) the original name of crown's application for women to remove her name, or surname name instead, monk, Taoism, and by the dharma name instead of the common name, after approved by the police chief, give change.
